Mikumi National Park is rich in wildlife and home to a large number of mammals covering four members of the African Big 5, only missing Rhinos. Additionally, it hosts varieties of numerous herds of animals ranging from Elephants, Buffaloes, Zebras, Wildebeest, Hyenas, Leopards, Lions, Sable Antelopes, Great Kudu, Hartebeest Impalas, Hippos, Baboons, Giraffe, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Gazelle and Elands which can be viewed throughout the year. Reptiles including Crocodiles, Monitor lizards and Pythons are also residents in the park. Even more wildlife can be enjoyed by spotting the over 440 bird species both permanent inhabitants and European migratory birds including the most sighted Black Billied bustard, Secretary Bird, Guinea Fowl, Ox Peckers, Bateleur Eagles, Cattle Egret.
